Who eats whom – and how well can you connect an entire ecosystem? In BIOlink, you build a food web one card at a time using plants and animals. Choose between two ecosystems: a European woodland edge and the African savanna.
New species are placed horizontally, vertically, or diagonally next to cards already in play. To add a card to the food web, it must have a valid predator-prey relationship with at least one neighbouring species. For every valid connection, you place an arrow pointing from prey to predator. Step by step, individual food chains become increasingly interconnected until they form a complex food web.
BIOlink can be played cooperatively or competitively and combines simple card-laying rules with real ecological relationships. This makes the compact card game equally suited to the family table and the biology classroom.
