Karp (The Carp) is a humorous, high-interaction family card game about the chaotic rush of Christmas Eve preparations. Players race against their neighbors to gather five essential holiday elements: Fish, Christmas Tree, Gift, Dinnerware, and Gingerbread. Watch out for mischievous moves from relatives, steal the choice cuts from your opponents, and make sure your holiday table impresses the whole family!

Key Features:

SET COLLECTION & DIRECT INTERACTION: Collect sets of Christmas items in basic versions ("Passable") or higher-scoring versions ("Deluxe"), and steal completed sets right out of your rivals' baskets.

TAKE THAT & SPECIAL ACTION CARDS: Play action cards to block opponents' moves, initiate "Quality Control" to ruin their progress, or call Grandma for help!

TEMPORARY ALLIANCES: The "Cooperation" mechanic allows two players to join forces (e.g., carrying a heavy Christmas tree together), advancing both players on the progress board.

DYNAMIC END-GAME TRIGGER: The game ends immediately when a player completes all 5 categories or when the "First Star" card is played.

TWO GAME MODES: A classic, tactical mode ("Family Carp") and a fast-paced race variant ("Carp at Mother-in-Law's").

Gameplay Overview:

Each player starts with a hand of cards and progress markers set to the -1 positions on the progress board. On their turn, a player performs one main action:

Play a Pair: Place a matching pair of item cards from your hand (or pair a card from hand with one from the public Market) into your personal Basket, advancing your marker to space 0.

Play an Action Card: Play a Done! card to finalize an item in your basket and move your marker to a scoring space (+1 or +2), or use special cards (The Thief, Call to Grandma, Quality Control, Cooperation).

Discard a Card: If you cannot or do not wish to perform an action, discard a card from your hand to the Market.

At the end of the turn, players draw back up to a 5-card hand limit from the deck or Market. The game ends immediately when a player finalizes an item in all 5 categories or when the First Star card is played. The player with the highest total score on the progress board wins!
