The year is 1099. The Crusader armies capture Jerusalem, and new Christian states emerge in the Levant. Twelve years later, the Crusader states are still struggling to secure their lands. The Saracen threat looms over their borders, while rival rulers compete for the favor of the Holy See, control of valuable trade, and influence across the region. Their struggle is far from over…
Outremer is a strategy game for 2–4 players set in the early 12th-century Levant. Take control of Jerusalem, Antioch, Tripoli, or Edessa and lead your state through political rivalry, religious influence, economic development, and war.
Plan your orders, develop and fortify your cities, manage valuable goods, raise armies, employ spies, and expand your influence across the Levant. But every decision must account for both your Christian rivals and the Saracen forces that reinforce, raid, and threaten Crusader-controlled lands.
Play individual scenarios or embark on a four-chapter campaign, where your decisions and achievements carry over from one chapter to the next.
The original illustrations for Outremer were drawn by hand in pencil, pen, and ink and decorated with gold leaf before being scanned and retouched for the game.
