Spy Team is a team-based trick-taking game for four players, played two against two. Two elite spy agencies, C.A.T. and B.I.R.D., compete to prove which of them is the finest. Success depends on trust and coordination — yet partners are never allowed to discuss their plans.
At the start of each round, players receive a hand of cards that may not be rearranged. Cards can only be played from either end of the hand, and while the card backs show each card's color, its number stays hidden from the other players. Playing one card per trick, players try to coordinate with their partner while reading the opposing team's intentions. Each mission calls for a specific split of tricks between the two teammates — one partner takes exactly 1 trick and the other 5, or 2 and 4, or 3 and 3.
A round ends the moment a team completes its current mission, or blocks the opposing team from completing theirs. Complete all three of your team's missions before your rivals do, and your team wins.
